It was in the year 2011, that LPF started offering School Scholarships under its School Project – ‘2morrow 2gether’, these scholarships are awarded to girls studying in the 7th grade, right upto their graduation.
These girls have been studying in non-aided and partially aided schools in Pune city and rural areas of Pune.
Under the School Project, 2250+ girls from 15 schools from
Pune are supported for 10 years duration.
The girls are mainly from families where earning members are working as farmers, laborers, auto drivers and domestic helpers or doing odd jobs. Family total annual income of girls is below Rs. 1, 25,000/-.
Eligible girls go through rigorous application process, written assessment and personal interview in the presence of their parents/ guardians conducted by the selection committee. Post selection, they are awarded scholarship in a award function, witnessed by one of their parent. Followed to this they are oriented through an orientation program.
Project scope includes Scholarship, School Aids Counseling, Skill Building/Training and Exposure visits and Need Based Infrastructure.
It was in the year 2010 for Pune and 2014 for WAN, LPF started offering Merit – cum- Need Based Scholarship and skill building programs to girls pursuing their Undergraduation studies.
The beneficiaries from this project are named as LILA Girls.
The meritorious but economically challenged girls pursuing their Bachelor of Engineering – 4 years, Bachelor of Engineering after Diploma, Bachelor of Pharmacy, Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science are awarded the scholarship.

The meritorious but economically challenged girls pursuing their Bachelor of Technology– 4 years and Bachelor of Technology after Diploma are awarded the scholarship.
The target group is girls of age 17 to 25 years, who belong to poor households (annual family income less than Rs. 3,50,000/-) or lower-middle class homes. Their families are with average size of the family 7 members, have limited availability of finances. The earning members of the family are typically working as farmers, fruit seller, labourers, drivers, tailor, domestic helper/ maids, doing some odd jobs, etc., single parent/ no parents (orphans).

Some of our Engineering girls are working with organizations like Target, Walmart, Accenture, Infosys, Cisco, Toshiba, Tata Motors, Persistent, Tata Technologies, HSBC, Oracle, Mastercard, SAP, Qualcomm, IBM, Indian Oil, Amdocs, Capgemini, Microsoft, Amazon, Baxter, Mercedes Benz, SKODA AUTO Volkswagen India with an annual starting salary package ranging INR 2,50,000 – INR 12,00,000.
Some of our Nursing girls are working with reputed hospitals like Breach Candy, Apollo, KEM, Fortis, Saifee, Ruby Hall Clinic, Tata Memorial, Deenanath Mangeshkar hospital with an annual salary package ranging INR 3,00,000 – INR 5,00,000 plus additional benefits.
Many of our Pharmacy girls are working with organizations like Lupin Pharmaceuticals, BioEra and Cipla with an annual salary package ranging from INR 2,50,000 – INR 5,00,000.
With ‘Beyond Scholarships', LPF focuses on equipping the girls with the current and relevant essential skills, professional skills, corporate and industry ready Skills.
Through ‘Beyond Scholarships’ LPF trains them to build the skills, which helps them in being employment ready.
Additionally these girls are supported through internship and placement support, with a main focus on those who do not get through campus recruitment in their colleges.
It was in the year 1996, LPF started offering Postgraduate Merit – cum- Need Based Scholarship and skill building to girls pursuing their postgraduation in multiple streams within the Pune District.
The postgraduate scholarships are awarded to the girls pursuing their postgraduation studies in Pune City. In the past, LPF has also awarded scholarships to girls pursuing their postgraduation studies, abroad.
The beneficiaries of this project are named as LILA Fellows.

Like Undergraduation Scholarship and Skill Building project, the girls applying for the Postgraduate scholarship too come from poor households or lower-middle class homes. Similar process of application, selection, scholarship award and orientation is followed through. Similar interventions of ‘Beyond Scholarship’ are undertaken focusing on skill building and employability readiness of these LILA Fellows.
The significant transformation is witnessed in each girl – in their ever increasing self-confidence, social and general awareness, meeting enormous personal challenges and withstanding professional demands, making time to improve the lives of others around them. Our Scholars give back to LPF not only in monetary contribution, but also training & mentoring other LPF Scholars.
