CELEBRATING A DECADE OF EXISTENCE...

SPECIAL INSPIRA ISSUE
A Message from Leading Ladies
Over the past 15 issues, 'Inspira' has been fortunate to be able to meet lady achievers in different vistas of life and get an insight into their lives, so as to understand what makes them social reformers. What brings us more pride is when these ladies continue to be associated with the foundation as they closely monitor our growth via our newsletter. We appreciate the kind gestures of them all and take pleasure in sharing the many messages of encouragement we received from them.

“Today the achievements of women like Naina Lal Kidwai, Kiran Bedi and Kiran Mazumdar Shaw are front page news. But there are hundreds of women in top management posts whose contributions would remain unknown if magazines like 'Inspira' had not provided them a platform.
I hope 'Inspira' which has maintained such high standards of journalism and has an attractive get up will become more broad-based, spreading its reach to a larger audience so that many more women can find a voice and be inspired. I convey my congratulations to Mrs. Poonawalla, the Lila Fellows and the 'Inspira' team.”

Mrs. Poonawalla, but also a huge family of Lila Fellows who can become the best support system for the new Fellows who join the family.
If each Lila Fellow decides that once she settles in the niche that she has aspired to carve for herself, she could extend all-out support to those fledglings who are trying to spread their wings in this vast new world. Then the newcomers' lives would become little easier. I think this would lead to establishing a 'Mentor-Mentored' relationship, which would benefit both of them.May the Lila Family grow further in the years to come and may all of them reach the pinnacle of their careers in their chosen fields. Wishing you ALL THE BEST FOR YOUR FORTHCOMING FUNCTION.”

“Traditionally, Indian society has always been liberal, inclusive and, by and large, accepted the important role of women in the various institutions of the society. Yet, the participation of women in many socio-economic endeavors leaves much to be desired. To achieve gender equality, it is important to ensure economic independence for women, which in turn calls for increased access to education, employment and participation in formulation of public policy, and most importantly, women must be motivated and inspired through examples of role models. In this regard, your newsletter 'Inspira' has been doing a wonderful job and deserves to be complimented.”
